This Mallayer antique rug measures 107 x 419 cm, its elongated form carrying a field of tightly worked geometric motifs and small floral accents. Blue, brown, and neutral notes shift across the surface, with a darker central register that adds contrast and rhythm. The border is neatly defined, with angular repeats and guard bands that frame the composition. Low distress is visible in the softened colour and light surface wear, which give the rug an aged, settled presence. Circa 1885 - 1900, it reflects the layered pattern language and quiet patina of a distinctive antique rug.
