This Mallayer antique rug measures 102 x 396 cm and carries a slender, elegant format with a navy field, coral red highlights, and warm cream and beige notes throughout. The central pattern unfolds in a sequence of floral medallions and scrolling ornament, enclosed by fine borders and a delicate floral main border that still reads clearly across the length. Woven in wool, it shows low distress, with softened colour, light wear, and a calm, lived-in surface. Circa 1910 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
