This Sarouk antique rug, 135 x 196 cm, is rendered in deep navy blue, rust, brown, faded teal and ivory, creating a field with notable depth and a softly timeworn glow. The layout centres on a tall medallion, supported by figural panels, animal forms and small decorative motifs that read with clarity against the darker ground. A busy floral border encloses the composition and adds further warmth at the edges. Woven in wool with low distress, it retains a calm, collected presence and a gently worn hand. Circa 1910 - 1930, it reflects the layered character of an antique rug.
