This Mallayer antique rug measures 188 x 538 cm and carries a long, elegant format with an all-over pattern that feels both orderly and worn by time. Deep navy and slate blue are lifted by ivory, rust, faded terracotta, and muted grey, while the border provides a warmer, more defined edge. The wool surface shows strong fading and abrash, softening the smaller floral-geometric motifs across the field. Circa 1925 - 1950, this rug has the layered character and atmospheric patina often associated with a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
