This Tabriz antique rug measures 264 x 389 cm and carries a softly worn allover floral design in cream, taupe and muted brown, with subtle blue-grey accents dispersed through the field. The border remains visible but gently dissolved by age, while the central motifs read as layered and understated rather than crisp. High distress gives the surface a clouded, time-softened quality, with tonal variation and edge wear that add to its character. Circa 1920 - 1945, it offers the restrained ornament and balanced geometry associated with Tabriz weaving, expressed here through a faded, tactile and quietly architectural presence.
