This Oushak antique rug, 503 x 538 cm, is composed in a softly faded palette of coral red, teal, gold and muted neutral tones. An open lattice of floral medallions and angular motifs settles across the field, enclosed by layered borders with rosettes and fine guard details. The wool surface shows gentle wear, softened contrasts and irregular edge character that add to its quiet presence. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the generous patterning and relaxed colour movement associated with Oushak weaving, interpreted here through a calm, timeworn finish. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
