This Mallayer antique rug measures 206 x 587 cm and offers a long, elegant field softened by age and use. Woven in wool, it features an allover floral lattice with palmettes, rosettes, and small geometric details, enclosed by a tiered border arrangement that remains legible through its patina. The colour story is muted and earthy, with sage, taupe, beige, charcoal, and faded olive lending the surface a grounded, timeworn calm. Circa 1885 - 1910, it reads as quietly detailed and deeply lived with, while retaining the formal rhythm characteristic of the Mallayer weave.
