A dark central field supports a rhythmic field of oval medallions on slender stems, set within coral corner spandrels and a finely bordered frame. The colour palette balances charcoal, ivory, taupe, and faded sage with warm coral accents, creating a softly weathered contrast. Medium distress gives the surface a lived-in depth and a muted, atmospheric finish. Circa 1940 - 1965, it reflects the enduring graphic language associated with Mallayer weaving.
