This Tabriz antique rug measures 279 x 401 cm and shows the softened character of an older wool piece handled over time. The design balances a muted, timeworn centre with a more articulated floral border, where indigo, rose, teal, moss green, and gold still register against the faded ground. Repeating botanicals and medallion-like forms create a layered, formal composition that has been gently worn down into something airy and livable in tone. Circa 1920 - 1940, it retains the poise associated with Tabriz work, while medium distress and surface fading give the rug its quiet, textural depth.
