This Tabriz antique rug measures 198 x 318 cm and carries a restrained, elegant palette of ivory, pale beige, soft grey, celadon, light blue, navy, and gold. A formal medallion anchors the composition, while fine floral sprays and scrolling vinework ripple across the field and into the layered border. Wool lends the surface a tactile softness, and the medium distress reads as gentle wear that has mellowed the tones without diminishing the design. Circa 1920 - 1940, it reflects the poised, decorative language for which Tabriz weaving is known. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
