This Mallayer antique rug measures 135 x 279 cm and carries a muted palette of blue, cream, and neutral shades, lifted by traces of faded coral and soft green. The long central panel is densely worked with floral and vine motifs, then framed by a border of repeating medallions that gives the whole composition a measured cadence. Woven in wool and showing medium distress, it has visible fading, abrash, and worn edges that contribute to its lived-in character. Circa 1900 - 1930, it balances ornament and restraint with the ease of a well-aged surface.
