This Seneh antique rug, measuring 264 x 345 cm, is composed with a dense allover field of small floral motifs framed by a narrow, repeating border and slender guard bands. The wool pile shows medium distress, with visible fading, softened pattern definition, and an aged patina that settles the colours into a calm register of blue-grey, rust, ivory, taupe, and muted red. Circa 1885 - 1915, it reflects the measured ornament and timeworn surface that give this type of rug its enduring character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
