This Mallayer antique rug measures 358 x 528 cm and shows a serene, age-softened field in powder blue and faded teal, articulated with fine floral detailing and enclosed by ivory border bands carrying repeating palmette and vine motifs. The layout is calm and contained, while the worn surface lends depth, tonal variation, and a quietly weathered finish. Circa 1900 - 1925, it speaks to the composed decorative language often seen in Mallayer weaving, where intricate pattern and muted colour are held in graceful balance.
