A broad central medallion gathers the composition, while the surrounding field unfolds in dense floral latticework softened by age and wear. The border is drawn with rosettes and angular palmettes, creating a clear frame around the more fluid interior pattern. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reflects the layered ornament and gentle fading associated with a well-worn Mallayer, with medium distress that adds tactility and depth to its surface.
