This Tabriz antique rug measures 340 x 556 cm and carries the quiet depth of a piece shaped by time. In wool, the composition unfolds in faded indigo blue and ivory, with taupe, sage, and grey accents threaded through an allover field of scrolling arabesque motifs and rounded medallion forms. The border retains its boteh-inspired rhythm, though softened by age and wear. High distress has created a beautifully subdued surface, with lowered contrast and rubbed pattern detail. Circa 1880 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
