This Mallayer antique rug measures 163 x 340 cm and carries the subdued character of wool softened by age. The composition is still legible beneath extensive fading, with a central medallion, floral field, and slim decorative border appearing in muted sage, teal, rust, and tobacco tones. Much of the surface has been gently washed towards ivory, creating a calm, layered appearance with a timeworn finish. Circa 1925 - 1965, it presents as a highly distressed rug with visible wear, softened patterning, and an understated, lived-in patina. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
