This Mallayer antique rug measures 119 x 170 cm and presents a weathered blue ground lifted by neutral, white, and cream notes. Its composition is dense yet balanced, with an all-over scatter of angular floral motifs, small geometric accents, and boteh-like forms, enclosed by a narrow decorative border. The wool pile has softened over time, creating a muted, tactile finish with visible fading and medium distress that deepens the rug’s sense of age. Circa 1900 - 1935, it carries a calm, heritage-led presence, where pattern, colour, and wear sit in clear harmony.
