This Mallayer antique rug measures 193 x 381 cm and shows a dense allover lattice of small floral motifs, enclosed by a slender border of scrolling ornament and repeated guard bands. Its palette settles into rose red, muted rust, warm brown, ivory, sage, and pale teal, now softened by age and abrasion. Medium distress is visible across the field, with worn passages that lend the surface an even, timeworn character while preserving the overall structure. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reflects the measured rhythm and decorative restraint often found in Mallayer weaving.
