This Mallayer antique rug measures 269 x 396 cm and carries a refined, time-softened palette of powder blue, ivory, taupe, slate blue, and muted brown. The composition is centred by paired stepped medallions, with an intricate field of floral sprays, scrolling vines, and small-scale geometric accents that give the piece its layered rhythm. A floral border completes the design with restraint and balance. Circa 1900 - 1915, the wool surface shows moderate wear, gentle fading, and an aged character that lends the rug a calm, tactile presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
