This Oushak antique rug measures 475 x 767 cm and presents an expansive, faded composition of geometric floral motifs in red, pink, and neutral tones. A restrained border gathers the field without overpowering it, allowing the worn ornament and softened ground to hold the eye. Wool gives the surface a grounded tactility, with age visible in the gentle blur of detail and the mellowed colour palette. Circa 1885 - 1910, the rug shows medium distress, including abrash, overall wear, and edges that retain a naturally timeworn character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
