This Tabriz antique rug in wool measures 300 x 404 cm and presents the restrained character of an aged decorative weave. An allover floral field unfolds beneath a red main border and slender floral guard borders, while the surface settles into muted neutral, red, and brown tones with gentle greyed fading. The composition remains legible, though the pile wear has softened contrasts and blurred details across the centre. Circa 1900 - 1920, it has the patina and understatement that come only with time. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
