This Dorokhsh antique rug measures 318 x 495 cm and shows a layered composition softened by age. A faded central medallion rests within a field of floral motifs, enclosed by decorative borders that retain traces of blue, coral, cream, and brown. The wool surface has medium distress, with areas of worn colour and a gently washed finish that gives the design an airy, painterly quality. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the quiet balance and ornamented character associated with the Dorokhsh tradition, while its long proportions and timeworn palette lend depth and restraint.
