This Mallayer antique rug measures 102 x 404 cm and is composed in a muted palette of ivory, taupe, beige, and espresso brown. Its elongated field is densely worked with small-scale geometric and floral motifs, set within a composed border structure and darker side bands that lend the layout clarity. The wool shows medium wear, softened pattern definition, and an aged surface with gentle tonal variation throughout. Circa 1910 - 1930, it reflects the quiet intricacy and measured rhythm associated with Mallayer weaving, presented here with a subdued, timeworn character.
