This Tabriz antique rug, measuring 371 x 472 cm, presents a softly worn field of floral sprays and compact medallion motifs within a formal border arrangement. Wool lends the surface a grounded hand, while the palette of warm beige, brown, cream, and muted grey-green, with traces of soft blue, creates a calm, weathered register. Medium distress is visible in the faded clarity and relaxed edges, which add to its character rather than detract from it. Circa 1885 - 1905, it carries the composed, decorative language long associated with Tabriz weaving, refined here through age and gentle tonal shift.
