This Oushak antique rug measures 190 x 330 cm and presents a calm, weathered character in wool. The sage-toned field is enclosed by a faded red border, with floral and scrolling motifs worked through cream, blush, soft grey and muted gold. Its layout is airy and balanced, allowing the ornament to drift across the surface with an understated rhythm. Circa 1885 - 1900, it shows medium distress, including softened pattern definition, visible fading and a gently irregular edge that speaks to age and use.
