This Mallayer runner displays three connected medallions set into a dense field of boteh and floral repeat, rendered in wool with an ivory ground, red devices and gold accents. The weave exhibits low distress and a gentle abrash that softens the palette while preserving clear border definition and pattern. Circa 1885 - 1900. Read as an antique rug, its elongated proportions and disciplined motif work reveal a heritage sensibility and tactile surface, where measured wear and hand-dyed fibre lend warmth to the overall composition (201 x 483 cm). The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
