A Mallayer runner with a disciplined medallion chain and repeating lattice, rendered in neutral, brown, white and cream tones. Woven in wool fibre, the surface shows medium wear and an even, sun-faded colour that reads as a soft, tactile field. The 97 x 503 cm proportion accentuates the vertical cadence while narrow guard borders contain the pattern. Abrash and surface abrasion have mellowed original contrasts, leaving a travelled patina and slight fraying at the edges. An antique rug that balances geometry and quiet age, Circa 1895 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
