A compact Oushak in hand-spun wool, this antique rug carries a deep red ground lifted by cream, white and warm yellow notes. Stylised palmettes, small geometric medallions and scattered floral sprays describe a lively, free-flowing field; low distress has softened edges and introduced subtle abrash, giving the piece a gently worn patina and tactile surface. A narrow border strip anchors the composition, its neutral tones tempering the crimson field while grey accents add restraint. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measures 142 x 163 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
