An Oushak in wool with a quietly aged presence, its neutral ground warmed by red and pink motifs. Broad palmettes, stylised florals and clustered medallions compose an open, garden-like field held by a generous floral border. This antique rug shows low distress; the surface is softly worn with subtle abrash and intact edges that indicate careful preservation. The tactile pile and measured colour contrasts feel composed rather than ornate, an assured example of late nineteenth to early twentieth century Oushak sensibility. Circa 1885 - 1900.
