A quietly elegant Tabriz in wool, 335 x 518 cm, defined by a faded medallion and an array of boteh and palmette motifs set into a small floral field. Soft teal, dove grey and warm taupe form a subdued colourway, while layered cartouche and rosette borders give measured structure. The pile shows even abrash and areas of mellow wear that lend a tactile patina; edges are softly worn but intact. As an antique rug it reads as considered restraint, where faded colour and delicate linework speak to generations of use. Circa 1910 - 1925
