This Mallayer in wool presents as an antique rug with a muted, tonal palette and an ordered boteh repeat. The staggered paisley motifs sit against a soft brown ground worked with floral infill; pale blue notes appear sparingly across the surface. A narrow guard and scrolling border contain the field, where medium distress and gentle abrash create a mellow, tactile patina. The overall effect is quietly aged and textured, a study in subtlety and craft. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measurements: 340 x 625 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
