This Oushak wool antique rug carries a deep red medallion set into a golden and neutral field, the composition defined by palmettes and floral spandrels with a scrolling foliate border. The surface shows moderate wear and soft abrash that reveal layered tones of colour; pile loss is even and the fringes are worn. The hand and palette remain tactile and quietly expressive of age and craft. Circa 1900 - 1920. Measurements: 132 x 198 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
