An Oushak runner in wool, this piece pairs a red field with warm ochre cartouches and pale cream reserves, organised around a central mihrab motif and foliate spandrels. The borders carry elongated palmettes and a scrolling vine that frame the elongated composition with calm rhythm. The pile shows low wear and gentle abrash, the surface tactile under the hand; overall the colour relationships remain clear and harmonious. This antique rug reads as an architectural, time-softened textile with an open, airy pattern. Circa 1900 - 1920. Size: 213 x 414 cm.
