This Sarouk is a generously scaled wool example with a dense floral lattice and palmette border, rendered in layered blues, cream and neutral tones. The surface shows low wear and discreet abrash that lends a softened patina across the field; borders remain sharply modelled with rosette repeats. As an antique rug the weave communicates a calm, tactile presence and a considered approach to colour and pattern. The piece retains its original character while showing gentle age in the pile and edges. Circa 1900 - 1915. Size: 274 x 538 cm.
