A measured Tabriz with a rich red field and an intricate brown and ivory medallion, woven in wool and presented at 122 x 168 cm. The scalloped central cartouche sits within multiple floral vine borders, the neutral ground and small green details lending subtle modulation of colour. Surface wear is low and the pile shows gentle abrash that enhances the rug's depth and texture; edges are intact with minimal loss. As an antique rug the composition balances formal restraint with floral ornament, a testament to workshop technique and timeworn patina. Circa 1920 - 1935
