This Tabriz presents a muted colour range of cream, white and brown, handwoven in wool and softened by heavy wear. The design is an understated network of floral medallions and scrolling vines, framed by multiple floral guard borders whose motifs remain legible through the abrash. High distress and a lowered pile create a velveteen surface with evident edge wear and small losses that emphasise the antique rug’s history and tactility. The overall effect is worn yet composed, a piece that reads as faded elegance rather than neglect. Circa 1900 - 1920. Size 272 x 394 cm.
