This Tabriz presents a central medallion within a rich red ground, the composition tempered by cream and light-blue floral arabesques and layered guard borders. The wool fibre retains a gentle, tactile surface with low distress and subtle abrash, allowing the pattern to breathe. Proportions are modest and considered at 127 x 178 cm, offering a focused study of pattern and palette. Circa 1900 - 1920, the antique rug reads as a measured example of turn-of-the-century Tabriz work, its restrained wear revealing the soft hand and considered colour harmonies typical of this period.
