A painterly Tapestry panel worked in wool, the scene composed of strolling figures, urns and a sculpted stair framed by leafy trees. The muted neutral and brown ground is warmed by rose pink accents and a looser, painterly floral lower border. Medium wear and abrash have softened the imagery and created a cohesive, clothlike surface that reads as an historic textile rather than a new object. This antique rug retains a lived, tactile quality and clear figural narrative. Circa 1730 - 1750. Size: 122 x 130 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
