A wool Tapestry, 183 x 152 cm, composed as a pastoral pictorial scene with shepherds, animals and a flowering border; this antique rug has a painterly, almost tapestry-like presence. Neutral and brown fields are warmed by cream and white highlights, producing a softened, muted colourway. Wear is low and the surface shows a gentle patina and light abrash that emphasise age without erasing detail. The floral border frames the centre with measured decoration; the wool surface remains tactile and substantial to the touch.
