This Sarouk carries a calm, neutral colourway with a detailed centre medallion on an ivory ground, its field enlivened by scrolling floral vines and palmettes. The layered guard borders in brown and muted blue contain the composition with a gentle, measured rhythm. The wool fibre shows low, consistent wear and subtle abrash that softens the ivory while retaining definition in the medallion motif. Circa 1925 - 1940. Measures 130 x 213 cm. The surface retains a tactile clarity and an understated patina that speaks to careful use and considered dyeing. This antique rug retains a considered, tactile character.
