An Oushak runner in wool fibre, held in a warm red and cream palette with soft neutral accents. At 114 x 340 cm this antique rug displays an allover floral lattice and a narrow rosette border, the motifs resolved with an assured, slightly naïve geometry. Low distress and gentle abrash give the colours a mellow, sun-softened depth while the pile keeps a tactile, supple quality. The overall effect is heritage-minded and quietly tactile, a measured example of late nineteenth to early twentieth century weaving. Circa 1885 - 1905. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
