An Oushak defined by a luminous red ground strewn with stylised palmettes and a relaxed floral vine, framed by a creamy white border. The wool fibre retains a low level of distress so the design remains legible while the surface develops a soft, tactile patina. Subtle abrash and gentle fading emphasise the handmade character, giving the colours a warm, muted clarity. This antique rug measures 338 x 406 cm and reads as a considered example of late nineteenth to early twentieth century provincial weaving.
