An assured Mallayer runner with a subdued, layered colour palette and woollen pile. The red centre hosts repeating floral medallions and palmettes, articulated against a cream border patterned with rosettes and serrated vines. Medium wear and visible abrash have softened the field and edges, leaving a textured surface with scattered surface loss and worn guard stripes that read as historic patina. Warm neutral highlights modulate the overall colour and reveal the maker's hand. This antique rug measures 114 x 274 cm and retains a tactile, heritage-rich character. Circa 1900 - 1915.
