This Tabriz in wool presents as an antique rug with a restrained palette of ivory, warm beige, terracotta and grey that has mellowed with age. The design centres on a medallion surrounded by scrolling palmettes, foliate arabesques and small animal figures, contained by repeating guard borders. Medium distress is visible as even fading, abrash and softened pattern edges; the surface reads as tactile and lived-in. The rug measures 132 x 183 cm and carries a calm, heritage-aware character. Circa 1910 - 1925. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
