This Tapestry presents a figural pastoral tableau in wool, worked in a soft palette of brown, cream and neutral tones. The composition centres on a large tree, animated figures and a reclining lion, the landscape receding into misty hills. Surface texture shows medium wear and subtle abrash, which emphasises the tapestry's tactile age and woven brushwork. The narrow plain border is a later, sober framing to the scene. As an antique rug the piece conveys quiet pictorial presence and material warmth; measurements are 198 x 262 cm. Circa 1725 - 1775.
