This Tabriz presents a quiet field of repeating rosettes and star motifs in soft cream and white tones. Worn wool fibre and a high level of distress have muted the original contrasts, producing an even, tactile patina and subtle abrash across the plane. The narrow ivory border with small floral devices frames the field with restrained geometry. Surface wear is apparent in areas of low pile and softened corners, which lend the piece an archival, handled quality. This antique rug measures 295 x 373 cm and is an exercise in restrained colour and materiality. Circa 1900 - 1930
