A quietly luminous Tabriz in wool, this antique rug presents a pale, neutral field punctuated by a petalled central palmette and delicate scrolling floral work. Narrow floral guards frame the composition, the motifs rendered in subtle tonal greys and beige on a cream ground. Surface wear is medium with soft abrash and a mellow, low-contrast ageing that enhances the tactile weave and reveals occasional faint marks. The overall feeling is one of considered restraint and refined surface texture. Circa 1900 - 1915. Size: 173 x 267 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
