This Oushak is a large wool rug, 305 x 366 cm, centred on a mellow gold field with cream stepped spandrels. A generous central medallion sits within a field of stylised floral motifs and angular cartouches, the border following a calm sequence of rosettes and scrolling vine. The pile retains low distress with gentle abrash and even wear, the wool fibre lending quiet tactile depth. The result is composed and time-softened; this antique rug presents as an ordered, heritage-minded piece that foregrounds colour, texture and measured pattern. Circa 1885 - 1900
