In this Tabriz a coral to terracotta field in wool fibre forms a dense allover floral lattice of palmettes, rosettes and interlaced vines, framed by a dark brown main border with repeating oval cartouches. The piece retains low, sympathetic wear and a softly worn hand where ivory and ochre highlights lift the surface. The restrained scale and detailed ornamentation suggest late 19th-century making, read as careful craft and time-softened colour. Circa 1915 - 1930. This antique rug measures 277 x 378 cm and carries an assured sense of heritage in its layered fibre and composition.
