A refined Khorasan in wool, this antique rug measures 371 x 569 cm and presents a pale ground enlivened by soft green and indigo accents. Intricate scrolling vines and floral arabesques form a discreet central medallion within an allover meander, edged by narrow guards and a foliate main border. Medium distress yields even abrash and softened detail, producing a warm, worn luminosity across the pile. Circa 1900 - 1930. The subdued colour range and tactile fibre give the rug a considered, heritage-inflected presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
